With the Creativity through Reuse workshops in Dublin, we seek to educate children and adults in using their hands to create or innovate by using recyclable material.
The support to local workshops began through our contact with Recreate, an organisation that sources unwanted, end-of-line surplus materials from business and makes them available to members such as schools, preschools, youth groups and art groups for creative activities nationwide.
This programme benefits communities by training people in manual skills that have been lost in this high tech age, and avoiding recyclable material going to landfill. Additionally we create consciousness on the importance of the paper life cycle and the need to contribute to it through recycling. Smurfit Kappa supplies paper cores, unbranded boxes, butt reels and other material. Besides our support for local workshops, we also provided design support to Recreate.
