Smurfit Westrock Denmark recently marked a historic milestone: For the first time in the company’s 73-year history, a 60th anniversary was celebrated. Consultant Bodil Berthelsen was honored for an exceptional career spanning six decades.

Berthelsen began her journey in 1965 as an apprentice at Dansk Kraftemballage, as the company was then known. Her talent, drive and commitment have led her through several key positions — from accounting assistant to accounting manager, finance manager and sourcing manager. Since 2011, she has served as a consultant, responsible for areas including leasing, insurance, building operations and a variety of project assignments.

Over the past 60 years, Berthelsen has been known for her professional competence and unwavering dedication. She has faced challenges of all sizes with professionalism and energy, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues. Her ability to deliver results and solve complex problems has been recognized across all levels of the organization.

Even when faced with serious personal challenges, including a life-threatening illness, Berthelsen has maintained her zest for life and drive to succeed. Her continued positivity and engagement, both at work and in the community, have inspired colleagues and leadership alike.

Berthelsen’s 60th anniversary with the company was celebrated in Kolding, where current and former colleagues and partners gathered to honor a remarkable colleague and individual.
