Smurfit Kappa's "Building Dreams" Programme in Colombia
Meet Adriana Achinte, a 16-year-old student with big dreams and a heart full of determination. Adriana studies at the Technical Institutes for Agriculture and Forestry (ITAF) in Colombia which is a part of the education programme of the Smurfit Kappa Colombia Foundation. Despite coming from a family with limited resources, Adriana has always held education in the highest regard, a value deeply instilled by her family. With a steadfast commitment to her studies, she earned a scholarship through the ‘Building Dreams’ programme, supported by Smurfit Kappa and its employees.
Adriana’s story is one of resilience, aspiration, and community spirit. She dreams of pursuing a degree in Law to advocate for vulnerable families and women in her country. Her dedication goes beyond academics as she actively participates in initiatives like the Glow Club and Advocating for Girls, where she discusses feminist issues and rural life experiences on an international stage.
