Smurfit Kappa win record number of awards at this year's FIA ceremony

Smurfit Kappa has won 21 awards for its forward-thinking and innovative packaging solutions at this year’s Flexographic Industry Association (FIA) UK awards. Since 2013, Smurfit Kappa has received over 130 FIA awards, consolidating its industry-leading position in the packaging industry.

Smurfit Kappa’s sustainable packaging solutions received three gold, seven silver, seven bronze and three Highly Commended awards. Their Markham Vale site’s DRO - Operator Vince Ward also took home the highly coveted Student of the Year award, and the site themselves won the Silver award for the Best in Show category.

Commenting on the company’s continued success at the FIA UK awards, Eddie Fellows, CEO of Smurfit Kappa UK and Ireland, said: “FIA set the gold standard for the Flexo print sector with their independent judging of quality standards. The FIA UK awards (formerly the EFIA awards) celebrate technical innovation and creativity in flexographic printing.
