Our free-from packaging partner stories
Free-from moisture
McCormack Family Farms needed to replace imported wax-lined and PET-coated cardboard trays for their fresh produce with a locally sourced, sustainable alternative that could resist moisture - without compromising recyclability.
We engineered a sustainable water‑resistant coating on 100% recyclable cardboard trays. The result? Durable, moisture-resistant packaging that kept produce fresh, eliminated plastic components, and reinforced the brand’s environmental commitments.
Free-from harm
MESSIAH & EVE, a vegan body care brand, needed eCommerce packaging that protected fragile cosmetics during shipping and aligned with their clean, cruelty-free ethos - while also being fast to pack, easy to open, and recyclable.
We designed a premium-grade, self-seal cardboard box with high-end printing and rip-strip functionality. The vegan packaging provided protection for their products, streamlined fulfilment with easy-to-use tape, enabled reuse and delighted customers with a luxury unboxing experience, whilst remaining 100% FSC-certified and recyclable.
Free-from damage
Gymkhana Fine Foods faced frequent transit damage due to courier mishandling of their fragile glass jars. This not only threatened their product quality but also risked costly returns and undermined customer confidence.
We designed bespoke cardboard delivery boxes with internal die‑cut inserts that securely held their glass jars in place, significantly reducing breakages, enhancing the unboxing experience, and protecting the brand’s premium image.
Free-from plastic
Marshall Tufflex needed to eliminate plastic tape to align with their Net Zero ambitions and eco centric branding.
We created custom, tape-free, self-seal folding cardboard boxes - using 100 % FSC approved recycled materials - that maintained durability in shipping while removing plastic components, boosting efficiency and reinforcing their green credentials.
Free-from temperature risk
Mindful Chef, the UK’s highest-rated recipe box brand, needed to keep meal kits safely chilled below 8 °C during transit, even with minor temperature fluctuations, while moving away from plastic pouches and gel packs that couldn’t be easily recycled.
We created a fully recyclable, two-piece telescopic corrugated cardboard insulation pack that maintained consistent temperatures for over 30 hours in ISTA-certified testing. This innovation removed hard-to-recycle plastics, protected food safety, and reinforced Mindful Chef’s climate-friendly, circular commitments.
Free-from waste
Iron Mountain needed dual-purpose packaging to deliver and return IT equipment securely, without resorting to multiple single-use boxes. The packaging had to be durable enough for repeated journeys while protecting valuable kit in transit.
We developed a returnable postal pack made from 100% recyclable, FSC-certified materials with self-seal closures for easy reuse. By consolidating the packaging from four separate boxes down to a single, returnable solution, Iron Mountain reduced waste, simplified logistics, and strengthened its circular credentials.
Free-from shelf obscurity
Woodforde’s needed packaging that would keep their premium beer visible and distinctive on crowded supermarket shelves while still protecting glass bottles during transit. Traditional plain brown boxes risked blending in, reducing brand recognition and shopper appeal.
We developed a moisture-resistant, flexo-printed shelf-ready box with bold, eye-catching branding. This enhanced shelf standout, safeguarded the products in transit, and made restocking simpler - helping Woodforde’s stay front-of-mind with shoppers.
