Optimsed one piece box appointed best in class on Panstar's production line

The challenge

  • Panstar was using standard American cases (0201s) for their main business - frozen bread and bakery products
  • They were looking for a packaging partner to provide a manual erecting solution for manual packing which would offer the right balance between productivity and cost
  • The pack was required to give high product visibility to increase impulse purchases and bring added value
     


 

Our approach

  • Smurfit Kappa worked closely with the Panstar Marketing team to develop and test several solutions, 
  • By using our unique Innotools, Pack Expert and Paper to Box, we were able to determine the box specification that assured maximum cost efficiency with no risk for the supply chain
  • The optimum solution was a one piece box with an integrated PET sheet. It was appointed best in class for productivity at the packing line.
