The Bag-in-Box Step Challenge
Our Bag-in-Box (BIB) Packaging Division operates in six different countries across Europe and the Americas and was looking for an activity which would bring together its employees in a fun and healthy way.
During the month of July 2023, they launched the BIB Step Challenge, a virtual walk across the across the world passing through each of our BIB locations from Argentina to Italy. If the division accomplished this challenge as a team, every plant would have the opportunity to contribute to local charity supporting our Everyone, inclusion & diversity initiative,
Over 220 employees participated in the challenge, who were able to record their daily steps in a dedicated app. Each time they reached a milestone, one of the BIB Locations, the app would share some information about that plant.
Over the 4-week period, our amazing employees collectively walked over 56 million steps which equates to an impressive 35,000 Kilometres.
Thanks to everyone who participated, Smurfit Kappa Bag-in-Box donated €1000 to each of the charities below.
