Smurfit Kappa Pirapetinga in Brazil, is proud to support the Pirapetinga soccer school aimed at young people in the community local to its paper mill and corrugated packaging plant.

Our partnership with the soccer school began in January 2023 with the purpose of creating a safe environment for the youth to achieve their goals. Since this time, over 150 children aged 11 to 17 have benefited from this programme.

The Pirapetinga soccer school has created a sense of belonging and is making a positive difference to the lives of these young individuals, paving the way for a brighter and more promising future.

Manuel Alcala, the CEO of Smurfit Kappa Brazil, joined the children during a recent training session where he spoke about the importance of education, sport, and friendship and how these things will shape their future.

Elias Miranda, a professional soccer player also attended the training session and was happy to see the support provided, believing soccer has the power to transform the lives of these young individuals. 

The young participants shared their thoughts, highlighting the positive impact on their mental and physical well-being, and how it helps them focus on their aspirations and avoid trouble.
