Illustrious Premium Whisky Packaging for Black Bottle

Smurfit Kappa Composites have been providing premium packaging solutions to Distell International for over six years.  Focusing on creating innovative, standout designs for the iconic black whisky bottle; we have seen the development of some incredible, illustrious premium whisky packaging, over the years.

Peter Thorpe (Sales Manager, SK Composites), worked closely with the New Product Development team at Distell International to develop a new premium drinks packaging solution for the Black Bottle brand to support an upcoming promotion. There were four artwork variants;  Smouldering Peat, Blend it Like Graham, Two Smoking Barrels & The Love of Wood each a part of a set of refined blending techniques that the Black Bottle Master Blenders like to call ‘Ingenious Alchemy’.

Each of the shaped composite tubes were printed with a full colour, lithographic print, which produced a high-resolution photo quality print finish to the artwork, and were embellished further with the use of Gold Scodex print, which helped to emphasise the focus and attention to the competition details of these promotional packs.

In order to ensure that all the intricate detailing of Black Bottle’s logo appeared as clear as possible, careful consideration was given when forming the embossed logo onto the lid. With the purpose of assisting with the upcoming competition, once the composite tubes were completed, the four varieties Black Bottle’s composite tube packaging were randomly placed into shipper cases ready to be filled and distributed.
