Better planet packaging

Our renewable packaging is made from paper using wood fibres from sustainably managed forests

Our industry is a significant and visible user of wood fibre. It is our basic raw material, and we ensure its origin is sustainable.

The re-usability of paper fibres contributes to the sustainability of our products, and recycled fibres make up 75% of the fibre content of our products. Every fibre used in our packaging comes from controlled sources.

  • For virgin paper it means that the raw material is sourced from well managed forests
  • For recycled material it means that it comes from controlled collection points

Let's get down to some facts...

DID YOU KNOW?
European forests, from where the region’s paper mills source over 90% of their wood fibre, have been growing by an area equivalent to 1,500 football pitches every day. Over 60% of this area is certified to FSC® or PEFC™ standards, thanks in part to the support of the print and paper industry.

DID YOU KNOW?
Natural forest accounts for 93% of the world’s forest area with planted forest occupying 7%, or 290 million hectares. Well-managed planted forests reduce the pressure on natural forests and can provide many other environmental benefits. Forests are essential for the transition to the green economy. Well managed planted forests are a vital element in the global forestry mix.
