Smurfit Kappa Latin America trains the trainers

15 February 2012

Employees in Latin America are trained to teach their colleagues how each individual can contribute to Smurfit Kappa's success.

16 employees from Smurfit Kappa Latin America have gathered in Cali, Colombia to take part in a Business Economics Train the Trainer (BET) course in order to teach this seminar throughout Latin America.

The participants came from various functions of the business ranging from sales, finance and production. This training activity, which initially started in Germany is part of a suite of sales training modules and has been rolled out throughout Europe over the past years. At present more than 2,000 employees have taken this course in Europe and now some of our Latin American colleagues will join this group.

Trainer teams of 4 individuals each, from Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela and Argentina, will continue its successful dissemination, ensuring that participants learn about the contribution which each and every individual can make towards the success of the organisation.

At the heart of the course are price calculations and factors which can have implications on the earnings and liquidity of the company. Further, during the 2 day course participants will learn how to deal confidently with topics such as balance sheet, profit and loss accounts, cash flow, contribution and working capital.
