As part of our dedication to sustainability, we are committed to supporting our future generations and supporting them through education, play and inspiration. This year our employees championed a number of inspiring activities to teach, inspire and bring awareness to our younger generations.

Smurfit Kappa Italy
The future of engineering is safe in Italy following a children’s robotic workshop hosted by Smurfit Kappa Vitop in Allessandria. The innovative workshop provided an excellent opportunity to open the doors of the Bag-in-Box plant to local children and their families, to share our values and to inspire the younger generation by exploring news ways of building robotic games.

Smurfit Kappa El Salvador
Smurfit Kappa El Salvador has been proud supporters of education within its communities for the past number of years. La Escuelita, or 'The School' has grown with the help of Smurfit Kappa due to the construction of a new classroom and providing the resources for a first year high school class. The number of children enrolled in the school has now increased by 20%.

A brand new class for children with autism in Olomouc is opening the future for local families. With the help of the Smurfit Kappa Foundation they were able to purchase a new library and specialist equipment in order to open a new class that teaches through Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) – a method of teaching that is very successful for children with autism.

Smurfit Kappa Spain
Supporting inclusion and diversity was central to Smurfit Kappa Nervión hosting a series of talks with blind Olympic surfer Aitor Francescena. An inspiring talk covered the importance of normalising disability in order to achieve equality and commitment to the inclusion of people with disabilities within the work class. The students left Smurfit Kappa with a new awareness and appreciation for the positive impact that employment has on those living with disabilities.
