Danone, one of the largest food producing companies globally, held the second edition of their National Annual Supplier Awards in Spain. Smurfit Kappa Spain & Portugal received “the Best Supplier Award 2011”.
During this event Danone recognised the excellent support provided by companies that work for Danone in Spain ‐ 3,000 throughout the country ‐ and whose efforts contribute to their success.
There were three categories, each relating to different key areas: raw materials and packaging, indirect materials & services, and farmers (milk suppliers). There were five awards in the first two categories: Quality & service, Most innovative idea, Best idea for maximising value, Best idea for sustainable development and Best supplier for 2011. This last category, which is the highest award of all, nominates the best overall supplier, and this year it was awarded to Smurfit Kappa.
Smurfit Kappa, the leading European company in corrugated packaging solutions, was selected from more than 45 supply companies, as the Best Supplier of the year in the Raw Materials & Packaging Category, for its overall excellent performance and for achieving a very strong result in all the areas that were appraised: Quality of product and/or service, Best value, Most innovative idea and the Best sustainable development idea.
