As the leading supplier in Europe, 13 countries from Smurfit Kappa’s global network are showcasing their packaging expertise in the agricultural sector at the Fruit Logistica event in Berlin on 8-10th February.
The event, which attracts 70,000 buyers from all over the world, shines a light on the most innovative products available for fresh produce.
Smurfit Kappa has worked with customers in the agricultural sector for more than 30 years, consistently delivering fit-for-purpose packaging through its industry-leading capabilities. These include:
Stringent product testing to withstand a complex supply chain and variable conditions so that seasonal fruit and vegetables can stay fresh and protected
A network of erecting centres across Europe which help its customers to get their products to market more efficiently
Award-winning design capability to raise brand awareness and promote increased sales
Among the company’s flagship products for the agricultural sector is the P-84 range which can accommodate different sized trays in the same pallet.
Saverio Mayer, COO of Smurfit Kappa Europe said: “We have been working with customers in the agricultural sector for a long time so we have a deep understanding of how to balance the needs of both suppliers and retailers in this sector.
“Each customer has different requirements and we constantly explore the right solutions that will ensure products are protected throughout the supply chain to reach the shop floor in perfect condition. An additional benefit of our products is our award-winning designs as research shows that shoppers respond better to branded rather than generic packaging.”
The following Smurfit Kappa countries are participating in the Fruit Logistica event: Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
