High Quality Post Print (HQPP)

Smurfit Kappa Print Vision is achieving 120DPI on light and fully coated substrates - well above the industry standard

The power of print

Print is a final vital communication medium to persuade the consumer to purchase your product, and we understand our customers’ needs to capture that power. Professional marketers and brand managers understand that packaging has to standout to make the consumer know your product is available and to make them desire it enough to purchase it. Our expertise and knowledge of high-quality printing techniques and its focus on supporting its customers, sets us apart.

Smurfit Kappa Print Vision

This cluster of UK manufacturing facilities focuses solely on providing high-quality print solutions and has been recognised by the print industry, including the EFIA (European Flexographic Industry Association), with awards every year since 2007 for their sector leading print quality.

“The industry standard for high-quality flexographic post print is 85-100 DPI (dots per inch). Smurfit Kappa Print Vision is achieving 120DPI on light and fully coated substrates, a quality comparable to litho-lam. The next milestone is an industry leading150 DPI,"

Paul Cahill, Sales Director at Print Vision

Innovation is only made possible at through the highly trained and motivated personnel inside the business.

This level of print advancement is allowing customers to make exciting new material choices in support of their brand image, creating on shelf impact with significant cost savings.

One example is the EFIA 2011, outstanding innovation award winning, Old Tom gift pack produced for Robinson’s Breweries. The pack was printed with a wood effect, replacing an expensive and difficult to source real wooden pack, which allowed a price point reduction of 50%. This new price point led to a revitalised market offering and a transformation of sales figures.

Robinson’s Breweries approached us with an issue. There were a number of problems with their Old Tom gift pack, originally packaged in a wooden box which was hard to source, costly and hid the contents of the pack - the bottle being one of the brand’s USPs.

“We are delighted with the new pack; Smurfit Kappa was a pleasure to deal with. They are quick off the mark with design and implementation. We finished up with a great pack without comprising our prestigious wood effect, it looks the real deal,"

John Robinson, Brand Manager at Robinson Breweries
