Director of Customer Service
Why did I join Smurfit Kappa?
Excellent opportunity to learn and grow, at the age of 23, I was eager to work and learn. The company that I worked for did not challenge my hunger for growth and service seemed to be my passion; I was given a great opportunity and I have been very grateful since then.
My career path with the company.
Started in 1999 in CS Tijuana Plant while doing my Customer Service (CS) duties, I also supported our ISO Manager with our procedures, supported training, implementing processes. I was then promoted to CS supervisor and was more involved with inter-company transactions regarding CS & procedures. I was later promoted to CS Manager & continued to support sister companies, now including our LA facility. In 2010, a New system was installed in LA facility and I was offered the opportunity to support implementation. I was later promoted to Director of CS.
What I am currently working on?
Supporting our sister companies, traveling from one plant to the other where training and support is needed.
What has been the most rewarding experience at Smurfit Kappa?
Work on what you love to do. I have found a second home where I feel that I am a useful resource to our team members and also I have the opportunity to give our customers the best service and exceed their expectations.
What does one working week look like?
Too short:; Need more days in the week. Normally, I travel 2-3 days a week.
What does the future hold?
WOW… growth, opportunity to learn more and more every day. Being part of Company growth is very rewarding.
