Was briefed on my project for my initial 6 months

ERP implementation across all plants in Ireland (BVP)

Outline of what we were trying to achieve and what was expected of me.

Being appointed General Manager of Smurfit Kappa Peterborough.

Being endorsed and recommended by every manager and line manger I have had on the programme – particularly John O Loughlin (CEO SKI) ,Muirgheas Griffin (CEO SK Scotland) & Mike Fadden (Regional Director – SK March). These are the type of individuals you need to learn from.

 
Launching Smurfit Kappa’s first web business(www.smurfitkappadirect.ie)
Being successful at every project I have undertaken and being asked to extend my time on each placement.
On completion of the programme being offered two roles within the group (Holland & UK) & being asked to stay on in Smurfit Kappa Dublin.
Launching the International graduate network. This was a concept of mine that I believe will benefit ex and current graduates throughout the group.

Porque entrou para a Smurfit Kappa?

Era uma oportunidade para ganhar experiência "prática" real numa grande multinacional no sector produtivo. O espírito empreendedor é encorajado e estimulado. Representou uma oportunidade para ganhar experiência geral de gestão – no entanto, não somos um ficheiro arrumado numa disciplina específica. O SKG proporciona-lhe a capacidade de viajar, aprender e compreender as melhores práticas e modos de trabalhar em todo o mundo. São competências vitais na moderna economia global.

Qual foi a experiência mais gratificante na Smurfit Kappa?

O lançamento do primeiro negócio Web da Smurfit Kappa. Após conclusão do programa de graduação, terem-me sido oferecidas duas funções no grupo (Holanda e Reino Unido) e foi-me pedido para ficar na Smurfit Kappa Dublin. Lançamento da rede internacional de graduados. Isto foi um projecto meu que eu acredito que beneficiará graduados antigos e actuais em todo o grupo.

Com o que se parece uma semana de trabalho?

Todos os dias são um novo desafio – trabalhar com pessoas excelentes com uma orientação para o sucesso num ambiente de equipa em que o nosso espírito empreendedor é estimulado e encorajado.

O que reserva o futuro?

O meu objectivo a curto prazo é continuar a aprender e a instruir-me sobre todos os aspectos da SK e dos negócios dos nossos clientes. O meu objectivo a médio prazo é ser um director regional depois de ter sido CEO de um país. A longo prazo... trabalhar muito, realizar o meu potencial e desfrutar o máximo.
