Why did I join Smurfit Kappa?
I joined Smurfit Kappa as it was one of the most successful businesses in Ireland, built on an ethos of respect and continuous improvement that challenged conventional thinking on how businesses can develop and grow at a multi-national level.
What am I currently working on?
Smurfit Kappa Ireland has undergone a complete national business restructure that has seen our market share increase in a challenging local business environment. This is an ongoing initiative while I am also consistently working on our ability to deliver margin and pricing enhancement and delivering an ever growing suite of innovative products, processes and services to our customers in order to maintain a position as market leader.
What has been the most rewarding experience at Smurfit Kappa?
The relationships I have developed while working at Smurfit Kappa have by far and away been the most rewarding aspect of working with the company. From an internal HR persepctive to customer relationships and colleagues met at a Divisional and Group level, I have met a wide range of people from a multitude of backgrounds.
What does the future hold?
We are now very well placed by way of cost base and national structure to further grow and enhance our business, times are challenging at a local level but Smurfit Kappa Ireland have the right people to achieve our future goals and further develop our business across the island of Ireland.
