A strong commitment to product safety
Product Safety Department
Our laboratory conducts research and implements development projects in the area of food contact. We test the purity of our paper and board products at all manufacturing stages, from the design to delivery.
We analyse products according to the requirements of various European and National legislation. This department is third party accredited according to the ISO 17025 quality standard for testing and calibration laboratories.
Packaging and food contact
We follow the evolution of regulations in all countries and are very active with regard to product safety issues at European and National level within the paper industry.
A significant part of our packaging is intended for the agro-food industry, where we ensure that food can be safely packed in our products, whether in direct or indirect contact.
Our systematic approach has resulted in zero recorded incidents of non-compliance with regulations or voluntary codes in the area of product safety and product responsibility.
Food and safety alerts
We continually monitor our performance with regard to both food safety and hygiene. This allows us to respond quickly and effectively to any market concerns or food safety alerts coming from European or National authorities.
Legislation and guidelines
European regulations that apply to packaging intended for food contact have been revised and reinforced over recent years. Implementation of the Guide for Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) is now required by law in paper mills and converting operations producing packaging for food applications.
We not only comply with legislation on health and safety aspects of our products, but we have also agreed to voluntary codes of conduct, which among others, are based on the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.
Health and safety considerations
As many of our products are used as transport packaging, we ensure that our products are safe and easy to use for those handling and using them.
