The Internal Audit function of the Smurfit Kappa Group is headquartered in Dublin with a second office in Amsterdam (previously in Paris) and a Team based in the Americas. The team currently consists of 15 individuals (among them: French, Italian, British and Irish) with excellent academic qualifications and an outstanding professional track record.  With strong analytical and communication skills, the team members deliver high quality reports that add value to the Group.  The audit projects are carried out throughout Europe, with average travel time of 40-50%.

Main Tasks/Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

The company is looking for similar high caliber professionals with energy and self-drive to join the internal audit department of the Smurfit Kappa Group. The assignment is for a period of 2-3 years after which the successful people will move into a senior finance role within the organization. Successful candidates for this position will be based in Amsterdam.

Key Competencies/Qualifications/Requirements

 University degree, Masters level preferred

 A recognised Accounting / Internal Audit qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIIA)

 Big 4 professional auditing firms, and/or,

 Experience in financial positions in industry

 Good understanding of financial cycles and corresponding internal control functions

 Fluent in English is a must, other major European language (French, German, Italian, Spanish) is a highly desirable.

 Strong analytical skills

 Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written

 Ability to meet deadlines and get the job done

 Leadership skills, team player, well balanced

 Ready to listen and learn in a hands on environment

 Ability to prioritise and adopt the 80/20 rule
