My career path with the company
I was introduced to one of Smurfit Kappa paper mills in The Netherlands already during graduation project. Some months later as result of an open application I started as junior Technical Service Manager for the Polish market. During 3 years of Technical Customer Service role I was involved in many customer driven projects, looking for solutions to issues which can be implemented in any operation. I was then introduced to standardisation project to analyse potential and possible savings which can be obtained. Since then I have been analysing the current situation and coordinating standardisation activities.
What has been the most rewarding experience at Smurfit Kappa?
I can think of few great experiences within Smurfit Kappa. Working with team of international professionals gives great opportunities to learn and gain every valuable experience.
Most of all the most rewarding experience for me was when you want to help your customers and after lots of trials and looking for solution you finally get it. It is amazing feeling to just hear two words “Thank you”.
Additionally I have been accepted to the Advanced Management Development Programme within Smurfit Kappa. As part of this programme each team is working on a specific project, very often in different area of expertise than day to day work. This approach is very challenging and ensures investigating and understanding of various areas within the company.
What advice would you give someone considering joining Smurfit Kappa?
If you want to work for international company with possibilities to develop yourself, you can do it with Smurfit Kappa. You can count on challenges and interesting day to day work. If you know what you want and if you want to work with paper based packaging there is no better place than working for leader in the European and Latin America markets.
